The Logansport Berries will take on the Maconaquah Braves in a tournament on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Logansport has six straight wins, Maconaquah has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Logansport's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Lafayette Jefferson by a score of 5-0.

Gracie Risley was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Adrienne Scott was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Lucy Gordon also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Oak Hill hit Maconaquah with a four-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Braves fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 10-8. Even though they lost, the Braves' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Shaela Brazzel made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kasey Murry, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Logansport's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 7.7 runs thus far. As for Maconaquah, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Maconaquah's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Logansport has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Maconaquah, though, as they've been averaging 8.7 hits. Given Logansport's sizable advantage in that area, the Braves will need to find a way to close that gap.
Logansport beat Maconaquah 5-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Berries have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
