Huntington Beach waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Newport Harbor Sailors 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Oilers, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Huntington Beach pushed their record up to 19-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Newport Harbor, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 18 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Huntington Beach will face off against Corona del Mar at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Sea Kings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.04 runs per game on average), something the Oilers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Newport Harbor, they will welcome Marina at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Sailors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
