Auburndale have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. On Friday they will take on Manawa at 7:00 PM. After both teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one of them is set up to suffer a discouraging change of fortune.
After having lost a blowout in their game three weeks ago against Stratford, Auburndale were happy to find some success two weeks ago. Everything came up roses for Auburndale against Chequamegon two weeks ago as the squad secured a 47-0 win. The high-flying offensive effort was a definite turnaround from Auburndale's flat performance the matchup before.
Meanwhile, Manawa got themselves on the board against Wittenberg-Birnamwood last Friday, but Wittenberg-Birnamwood never followed suit. Manawa were fully in charge, breezing past Wittenberg-Birnamwood 54-0. The lopsided score is just par for the course this season for Manawa, who can brag about five blowout wins.
Their wins bumped Manawa to 6-3 and Auburndale to 4-5. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Auburndale and Manawa will really light up the scoreboard.
