Two dominant backs in Kaleb Porter and Kino Lorona are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Mogollon Mustangs will challenge the Hayden Lobos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Mogollon's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last seven contests.
Mogollon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 72-30 win over Superior. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Mogollon found their leader in sophomore Jett Reidhead, who rushed for 145 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 200 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes. Those 145 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Reidhead. Brody Porter was in the mix as well, providing Mogollon with two scores.
Mogollon's run defense was locked in: Superior could only muster 2.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Porter for the heroic effort on defense: he. Mogollon hasn't allowed more than 7.1 yards per carry in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Hayden faced Mohave Accelerated in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Lobos blew past the Patriots, posting a 61-12 win. Considering the Lobos have won nine games by more than 31 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Mogollon better keep an eye on Tyler Garner. He was instrumental in Hayden's win, rushing for 297 yards and four TDs on only ten carries, while also picking up 40 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Garner a new career-high.
Hayden's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Javier Ortega and Mario Hong, who racked up four sacks between them.
Mogollon's record is now 8-2. As for Hayden, their record now sits at 10-0.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Mogollon has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 279.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Hayden struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 288.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Mogollon was dealt a bruising 74-42 defeat at the hands of Hayden in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
