While Friday's victory was certainly a team effort, someone pulling more than their own weight was underclassman Demetrius Elliot. On Friday he was dialed in and scored 14 points along with two steals. He played a big game the last time he faced Smithfield-Selma, so the team probably should've seen him coming.
Elliot and Southern Wayne will be playing in front of their home fans against Fike at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will pit Elliot up against Fike's star point guard William Monk. Will Elliot turn in another gem to overcome Southern Wayne? We'll have our answer very soon.
