The Fairbanks Panthers were handed a two-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against the Northeastern Jets on Wednesday. Fairbanks really took it to the Jets for the full four quarters, racking up a 47-6 victory at home. That 41 point margin sets a new team best for Fairbanks this season.
Ally Gearheart had an outrageously good game as she scored 11 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Rachael Hoover, who scored 12 points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Northeastern struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Fairbanks racked up ten assists.
Fairbanks' win bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Northeastern, their loss was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-19.
Fairbanks will take on the Jets at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Northeastern comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for they, they will look to defend their home court against Fairbanks at 6:00 p.m.
