The Linden-McKinley Panthers were the 46-18 winner over the Columbus International Lions when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Linden-McKinley took a 52-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Columbus International. Linden-McKinley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Linden-McKinley had strong showings from Christiana Towns, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 16 rebounds, and Tamiya Harrington, who scored 16 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Towns scored a full 51.1% of Linden-McKinley's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Dennie Houston was another key contributor, scoring no points along with eight steals and seven rebounds.
Columbus International found their leader in underclassman Leila Carter, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 16 rebounds. The game was Carter's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Annazai Ingram-cross, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Linden-McKinley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Columbus International, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Linden-McKinley will be home for the holidays to greet East at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbus International will be home for the holidays to greet Whetstone at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Whetstone comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
