The Greene County Tech Golden Eagles came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 45-33 victory over West Memphis. For Greene County Tech, this counts as revenge for the 60-45 defeat West Memphis walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
It was another big night for Jacey Edrington, who scored 18 points along with two steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Myiah Butler, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Greene County Tech has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for West Memphis, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greene County Tech will take on Paragould at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Paragould will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arkansas Rankings (they are ranked 198th, while Greene County Tech is ranked 19th). West Memphis will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Marion at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
