Anthony Wayne can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 41-6 win over Start. Given Anthony Wayne's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 69th, while Start is ranked 502nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Anthony Wayne can attribute much of their success to Cadence Carswell, who rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown.
Avon Lake can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They put the hurt on Ross with a sharp 40-14 win. The win was just what Avon Lake needed coming off of a 45-0 defeat in their prior match.
Their wins bumped Anthony Wayne to 9-2 and Avon Lake to 7-4.
Anthony Wayne was able to grind out a solid victory over Avon Lake in their previous matchup back in November of 2016, winning 14-6. Will Anthony Wayne repeat their success, or does Avon Lake have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
