The Auburn Mountainview Lions can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Monday. They blew past Auburn Riverside 65-43. The victory was nothing new for Auburn Mountainview as they're now sitting on four straight.
Auburn Mountainview had a senior duo take command as Caleb Bowden dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds and Mande Wanlemvo dropped a double-double on 18 points and 19 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wanlemvo has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mello Jacobs, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Despite the defeat, Auburn Riverside saw an underclassman step up: Emediong Ukpe scored nine points along with ten rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Ukpe pulled down eight or more rebounds. Ben Malela was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Auburn Mountainview's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Auburn Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
Auburn Mountainview will be playing in front of their home fans against Kent-Meridian at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Auburn Riverside, they will head out on the road to face off against Auburn at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Auburn has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 621 points over their last seven matches.
