The Rock Creek Academy Lions will head out on the road to square off against the LKY Saints at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Rock Creek Academy will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Cannelton on Thursday. The Lions were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Bulldogs. Considering the Lions have won three contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Dylan Parente was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Romney Hampton was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Caden Mason was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Rock Creek Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cannelton didn't got any hits.
Meanwhile, LKY waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs, sneaking past 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Saints have posted since May 13, 2024.
Like Rock Creek Academy, LKY also got a great game from a two-way player: Noah Howell. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Howell also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because LKY is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-6 otherwise. Howell was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Truman Herald, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Warren Scyphers, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
LKY pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Rock Creek Academy, their record now sits at 3-4.
