After a string of three wins, Northshore's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. Their2024 ended with a 67-48 loss against the Marist War Eagles. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Panthers came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 25th in Louisiana, while the War Eagles are ranked 144th in Georgia).

Northshore's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Marist, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-5.

Northshore will head out on the road to square off against East Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Marist, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Etowah at 3:00 p.m. Marist knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Etowah likes a good challenge.
