Dorman has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Westview Chargers in a holiday battle at 2:15 p.m. on Friday at. Hopefully Dorman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Monday.
Last Monday, Dorman was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 58-54 to J.L. Mann.
Dorman's defeat came about despite a quality game from Nakiyah Kelly, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Kelly is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rihanna Wallace , who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Westview waltzed into their match Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They walked away with a 58-46 win over King's Fork. Given Westview's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 12th in Tennessee, while King's Fork is ranked 230th in Virginia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kylee Alexander continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points. The contest was her seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mccall Sims, who scored 12 points.
Dorman's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3. As for Westview, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Dorman hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 56.1 points per game. It's a different story for Westview, though, as they've been averaging only 52.9 points per game. The only thing between Dorman and another offensive beatdown is Westview.
