Sissonville has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Chapmanville Regional Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Sissonville has not done well against Winfield recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Sissonville came out on top against Winfield by a score of 44-35.
Kynadee Britton was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Sissonville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Hillabold, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Chapmanville Regional waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 51-37 victory over Ripley.
Sissonville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Chapmanville Regional, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Sissonville was able to grind out a solid win over Chapmanville Regional in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, winning 57-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sissonville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
