Centerpoint is 1-7 against Glen Rose since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Centerpoint Knights will look to defend their home field against the Glen Rose Beavers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Centerpoint sitting on five straight wins and Glen Rose on six.
Last Friday, Centerpoint earned a 28-21 victory over Paris.
Centerpoint's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Drew Diggs led the charge by throwing for 178 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Bryce Harless, who picked up 72 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Glen Rose put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Two Rivers 63-0 at home. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Glen Rose had established a 56 point advantage.
Glen Rose had a senior duo take command as Roger Thomas rushed for 82 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries and Heath Ballance rushed for 77 yards and three touchdowns. Ballance was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Paxton Long, who rushed for 115 yards on only six carries.
Centerpoint's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.3 points per game. As for Glen Rose, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
Centerpoint took a serious blow against Glen Rose when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 42-15. Will Centerpoint have more luck at home instead of on the road?
