Softball Recap: Hebron Wins Going Away Against Tri-Township

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Central, Hebron was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Tri-Township Tigers with a sharp 19-3 victory. With that win, the Hawks brought their scoring average up to 7.6 runs per game.

Savanna Anderson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Hebron let Addison Toczek and Addison Dujmovich run wild. Toczek got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one triple, while Dujmovich went 3-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave Dujmovich a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addisyn Siminski, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.

Hebron always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hebron has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Tri-Township, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, Hebron will challenge Chesterton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Tri-Township, they will welcome Kouts at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
