The Timberline Blazers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They managed a 61-56 win over Peninsula. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Timberline to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sierra Cordis, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Cordis hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Shayla Cordis, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Despite the loss, Peninsula had strong showings from Kaylia Heidelberg, who scored 29 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, and Grace Richardson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. The match was Heidelberg's ninth in a row with at least ten points.
Timberline pushed their record up to 11-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Peninsula, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Timberline will head out on the road to face off against Kelso at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Kelso will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Timberline is ranked 25th). As for Peninsula, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gig Harbor at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
