Even though the Summit Tigers scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, the Coal Ridge Titans still came out on top. Coal Ridge sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-55 victory over the Tigers. The win made it back-to-back wins for Coal Ridge.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coal Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lochlan Wade, who scored 17 points along with two steals and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Wade grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Ben Simons, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Summit's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Emilio Jain, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Eduardo Gutierrez who scored 16 points. Hank Chabot was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
The victory got Coal Ridge back to even at 8-8. As for Summit, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.
