The Foley Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. The New Year welcomed they with a 76-39 whooping from Milton. While losing is never fun, Foley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 379th in Alabama, while Milton is ranked 111th in Florida).
When it comes to explaining why Foley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kaden Adams. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaborn Oakes, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Treymar Jones was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 3 assists for Milton. The matchup was Jones' eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sergio Robinson, who scored eight points along with eight assists and four steals.
Foley bumped their record down to 1-20 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Milton, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Foley is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Daphne at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. As for Milton, they will take on Pensacola Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pensacola Catholic is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
