Mize and Raleigh are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Mize Bulldogs will square off against the Raleigh Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Mize is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.
Mize proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 14) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Seminary, sneaking past 5-3.

Ella Gordon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on AK Easterling, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stole at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Kate Sullivan also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Raleigh posted their biggest victory since April 18, 2024 on Saturday. Everything went their way against Enterprise as Raleigh made off with a 10-4 win. The Lions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Raleigh let Lydia Bryant and Haylee Buffington run wild. Bryant went 4-for-5 with four RBI, one triple, and one run, while Buffington scored a run and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Macie Harris, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Raleigh kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Mize pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Raleigh, their record now sits at 3-6.
Mize took their win against Raleigh when the teams last played on Monday by a conclusive 10-0. Does Mize have another victory up their sleeve, or will Raleigh turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
