This season hasn't been kind to the Apopka Christian Academy Lions, who are still winless after their sixth match. They took a serious blow against Bridge to Independence on Thursday, falling 79-42.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bridge to Independence to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brock D'Alessandro, who dropped a triple-double on 11 points, ten rebounds, and 14 steals. Those 14 steals set a new season-high mark for him. Jvarius Gibson was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Apopka Christian Academy's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Bridge to Independence, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Apopka Christian Academy will face off against Redeemer Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Bridge to Independence won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Circle Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. Hopefully Circle Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 two weeks ago.
