It was fun while it lasted, but Ninety Six's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Thursday. They fell to the Calhoun Falls Charter Blue Flashes 44-40. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Despite the loss, Ninety Six still got an impressive performance from Janiyah Squire, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 21 boards. That was a full 45% of Ninety Six's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Even though they lost, Ninety Six smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Calhoun Falls Charter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Autumn Thomas, who earned 30 points and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Thomas has scored at least a third of Calhoun Falls Charter's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Sanders, who had five points along with nine blocks, seven boards, and seven steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Ninety Six fell to 4-1. As for Calhoun Falls Charter, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Ninety Six Wildcats duke it out with the Crescent Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Calhoun Falls Charter, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-23 victory against Whitmire on the 13th.
