Ava Beach spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lake Oswego saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sloane Morris, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, West Linn got the win against Lakeridge on Monday by a conclusive 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won six games by nine runs or more so far this season.
Avery Wolf looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kendall Atwood, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Emery Curtis, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
West Linn lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakeridge didn't launched any home runs.
West Linn is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Lake Oswego, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lake Oswego hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like West Linn struggles in that department as they've averaged .353. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lake Oswego suffered a grim 11-4 defeat to West Linn when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Lakers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
