After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gulf, the Fivay Falcons were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against River Ridge by a score of 27-15. This was payback for Fivay, who suffered a 43-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fivay to victory, but perhaps none more so than Samuel Monfre, who picked up 148 receiving yards and a touchdown. Monfre's longest reception was for an incredible 74 yards. Jamarian Miller and his 85 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Fivay's win.
Fivay has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for River Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fivay will take on Hudson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hudson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fivay in Florida (Hudson is ranked 151st, while Fivay is ranked 307th). As for River Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cypress Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cypress Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully River Ridge likes a good challenge.
