Baseball Recap: Rolling Meadows Wins Going Away Against Maine East

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Metea Valley, Rolling Meadows was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Maine East Blue Demons with a sharp 15-4 win. Considering the Mustangs have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Charlie Hoeper looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Rolling Meadows let Ryan Schneider and Josh Rappa run wild. Schneider scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Rappa scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. That's the most runs Rappa has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Joe Brigham, who scored two runs and stole two bases.

Rolling Meadows' victory bumped their record up to 11-1-1. As for Maine East, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Rolling Meadows will be playing at home against Zion-Benton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Zee-Bees have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.55 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Maine East, they are taking a road trip to take on Highland Park at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
