Grace Arrington made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Arrington was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Riverside-Durham got a massive performance out of Grayson Knotts, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Knotts is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. Nehir Volkan also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Durham Academy came out on top against Ravenscroft on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run sixth inning. The Cavaliers put the hurt on the Ravens with a sharp 13-7 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Cavaliers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Emma Asnani was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Maya Patel, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Durham Academy now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Riverside-Durham, their record now sits at 9-4.
Durham Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Riverside-Durham has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Durham Academy, though, as they've been averaging 9.5 hits. Given Riverside-Durham's sizable advantage in that area, the Cavaliers will need to find a way to close that gap.
