The Bronaugh Wildcats were the  66-59 winner over the Montrose Blue Jays when they last played one another  back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Bronaugh opened the new year with a less-than-successful  55-46 loss to Montrose. Bronaugh has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Colter Banes, who  scored six points along with 11  rebounds. Banes has been hot recently, having posted eight or more  rebounds the last three times he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Luke Bowling, who  scored 14 points.
 Bronaugh's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Montrose, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four games,  which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.
 Bronaugh will be staying on the road  on Monday to face off against Jasper at 5:00  p.m.  on January 8th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another  in Missouri (Jasper is ranked 347th, while Bronaugh is ranked 342nd). Montrose will have some time to savor their  win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wheatland at 7:00  p.m.  on January 16th. Wheatland knows how to get  points on the board -- the  team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Montrose likes a good challenge.
