Statesboro breezed by Vidalia on the road to the tune of 71-38. Statesboro's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Statesboro's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alyssa Staten, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 17 rebounds. Staten set a new season high mark in blocks with seven. Reya Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with eight assists and five steals.
Statesboro's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Vidalia, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Statesboro won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wayne County at 3:00 p.m. on December 29th. Wayne County is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Vidalia and Telfair County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Telfair County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 45 on Thursday.
