Having just played yesterday, the Hardaway Hawks will jump right back in to play the Woodland Wolfpack at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Thursday, Hardaway's game was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They snuck past McIntosh with a 64-58 victory. Given Hardaway's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while McIntosh is ranked 284th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hardaway's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lamell Mims, who scored 18 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mims has scored at least 25% of Hardaway's points. Mekhi Benton was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Woodland entered their tilt with Opelika with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Woodland came out on top against Opelika by a score of 57-50 on Thursday.
Hardaway is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Woodland, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
