The third road match was the charm for the Skyline Raiders, as they earned their first road win of the season. They took their contest on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 58-26 win over Mansfield. Given Skyline's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while Mansfield is ranked 476th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Skyline got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tamya Whitemon out in front who scored 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for Whitemon. Another player making a difference was Lily Brown, who scored nine points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Skyline now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Mansfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
Skyline will be home for the holidays to greet Waxahachie at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Waxahachie is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Mansfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Mansfield Legacy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
