Ithaca has been on the road for two straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Newark/Marion at noon on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Ithaca strolled past Dryden with points to spare, taking the game 36-22.
Meanwhile, Newark/Marion humbled Midlakes with a 41-7 victory. The result was nothing new for Newark/Marion, who have now won three contests by 28 points or more so far this season.
Kellen Foster continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 144 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, while also picking up 73 receiving yards. Foster was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards.
Newark/Marion's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Myles Comer and his two sacks.
Ithaca's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 4-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-5 Montrose and 3-4 Whitney Point (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 33.3% over those games). Newark/Marion has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in five of their first six matchups, giving them a 5-1 record.
