Hamilton Southeastern is 7-2 against Avon since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Hamilton Southeastern Royals will head out on the road to face off against the Avon Orioles at 7:30 p.m. Hamilton Southeastern will be strutting in after a win while Avon will be coming in after a loss.
Even though Hamilton Southeastern has not done well against Pike recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Hamilton Southeastern enjoyed a cozy 68-54 victory over Pike. The win was just what Hamilton Southeastern needed coming off of a 66-42 defeat in their prior matchup.
Hamilton Southeastern can attribute much of their success to Donovan Hamilton, who scored 22 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Orr, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Avon had to start their season on the road last Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 51-39 to Plainfield.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Kendrick Dunmore, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds. Jedidiah Minnett was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
The victory got Hamilton Southeastern back to even at 1-1. As for Avon, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Hamilton Southeastern beat Avon 59-47 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hamilton Southeastern since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
