The Lutheran Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 85-25 victory over Englewood. That looming 85-25 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Lutheran yet this season.
Lutheran's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lalo Gonzales, who scored 18 points along with six steals. Gonzales also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Hunter Caldwell, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds.
Englewood struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The win was the third in a row for Lutheran, bringing their record for this year to 3-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Englewood, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Lutheran will head out on the road to face off against Colorado Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Colorado Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Englewood won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Manual at 2:00 p.m. on December 9th.
