The Marshall Owls will head out on the road to take on the Hannibal Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Marshall has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 17.
Last Tuesday, Marshall came up short against Fulton and fell 49-38.
Despite their loss, Marshall saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Katarina Simic, who scored 14 points, was perhaps the best of all. Brooklynn Davenport was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hannibal beat Monroe City 55-42 on Saturday.
Marshall has been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-18 record this season. As for Hannibal, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Marshall took a serious blow against Hannibal when the teams last played back in January, falling 61-20. Can Marshall avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
