The Osage City Indians will head out on the road to take on the Olpe Eagles on Friday. Osage City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Olpe is ranked 111th).
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought match, but Osage City had to settle for a 57-54 defeat against Silver Lake. Osage City has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Olpe stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 71-42 victory over Fairfield on the road.
Osage City dropped their record down to 5-11 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Olpe, their win bumped their record up to 16-2.
Osage City came out on top in a nail-biter against Olpe in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, sneaking past 57-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Osage City since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
