Chilton County is 2-7 against Oak Mountain since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Chilton County will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Chilton County barely beat Benjamin Russell the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers blew past the Wildcats 12-1 on Tuesday. Considering the Tigers have won 15 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Mallie Harrison made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

What's more, Harrison posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March. Brianna Goggins was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Chilton County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Benjamin Russell only posted an OBP of .136.

Oak Mountain pushed their record up to 19-15 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Chilton County, their record now sits at 28-6-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Chilton County hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Oak Mountain struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Chilton County skirted past Oak Mountain 5-4 in their previous matchup back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
