Athens had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. Everything went their way against the River Valley Raiders as they made off with a 12-5 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Athens pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for River Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
