Northside and Harris County are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Northside Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Harris County Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Northside escaped with a win against McIntosh by the margin of a single free throw, 57-56. The win made it back-to-back wins for Northside.
Northside's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zariah Davis, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Davis has scored at least a third of Northside's points. Another player making a difference was ZaKyra Mcgee, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Harris County stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. Everything went their way against Northgate as Harris County made off with a 75-55 victory. Harris County pushed the score to 62-37 by the end of the third, a deficit Northgate cut but never quite recovered from.
Northside has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-14 record this season. As for Harris County, their win bumped their record up to 18-3.
Things could have been worse for Northside, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 68-51 loss to Harris County in their previous matchup back in January.
