Kenmore East is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Lewiston-Porter an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Kenmore East Bulldogs will host the Lewiston-Porter Lancers at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Kenmore East proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by six) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against North Tonawanda, sneaking past 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Lumberjacks: they've now won three in a row.
Brock Israel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Evan Adair, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Lewiston-Porter came into Saturday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over Lockport on Saturday.
Jackson Rodriguez was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Rodriguez was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Lewiston-Porter got a massive performance out of Charlie Jorgensen, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Brayden Anderson was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs.
Lewiston-Porter's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Kenmore East, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
Kenmore East skirted past Lewiston-Porter 4-2 in their previous matchup back in April. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
