The Stowe Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 63-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Williamstown. Stowe lost against Williamstown in their previous head to head back in March of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 81-35 score last time.
Williamstown was led to victory by Evan Bailey and Nick Mascitti. Bailey scored 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Mascitti scored 22 points along with six rebounds. Mascitti continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Colby Laggner, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.
Stowe's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-3. As for Williamstown, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.
Stowe will head out on the road to face off against Northfield at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday. As for Williamstown, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Winooski at 7:00 p.m. on December 29th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Vermont (Winooski is ranked 21st, while Williamstown is ranked 23rd).
