The Newnan Cougars will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against the Villa Rica Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. The pair are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Newnan waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. Everything went their way against Northside as Newnan made off with a 5-1 win. With Newnan ahead 3-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Villa Rica kept a clean sheet against Cartersville on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over the Hurricanes. The win was just what Villa Rica needed coming off of a 7-1 loss in their prior match.
Newnan's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Villa Rica, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Newnan skirted past Villa Rica 1-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2019. Will Newnan repeat their success, or does Villa Rica have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
