Menlo School is 2-7 against Sacred Heart Prep since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Menlo School Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sacred Heart Prep Gators at 7:00 p.m. Menlo School is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Menlo School put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Half Moon Bay 33-0 on the road. Given Menlo School's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 195th, while Half Moon Bay is ranked 731st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mikey McGrath was his usual excellent self, throwing for 153 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Willis Johnson, who rushed for 59 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Prep humbled Mountain View with a 50-17 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-3.
Sacred Heart Prep had a senior duo take command as Jack Stevens rushed for 94 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries and Ravu Savali rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Savali's longest rush was for an incredible 71 yards. Connor Lis was another key contributor, rushing for 57 yards and a touchdown.
Menlo School's win was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-0. As for Sacred Heart Prep, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Menlo School was dealt a bruising 34-7 loss at the hands of Sacred Heart Prep in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Thankfully for Menlo School, Andrew Latu (who rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
