Baseball Recap: St. Joseph's Prep Comes Up Short

St. Joseph's Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lansdale Catholic Crusaders. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

St. Joseph's Prep got a good showing from Cole Kuhn, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Kuhn also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Hawks are 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-5 otherwise.

At the plate, John Sitler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four RBI. Another player making a difference was Robby Grasso, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

St. Joseph's Prep now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Lansdale Catholic, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Coming up, St. Joseph's Prep is taking a road trip to face off against Bishop Eustace Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lansdale Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Friars/Pandas have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
