After a string of three wins, the Crothersville Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a serious blow against South Central, falling 66-27. Crothersville was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-14.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bella Riley, who scored 6 points along with 3 steals. Riley hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Pilgram, who scored 5 points.
The last time Crothersville won on the road was back back in November. Having now lost three straight away matches, they've bumped their record down to 3-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.7 points per game. As for South Central, their victory bumped their record up to 2-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crothersville's road trip will continue as they head out to face Rock Creek Academy at 11:00 a.m. on December 9th. Rock Creek Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Crothersville likes a good challenge. As for South Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Southwestern at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Southwestern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday.
