Benton Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Yazoo County Panthers. One positive for the Raiders, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Benton Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Yazoo County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Benton Academy will venture away from home to face off against Puckett at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Yazoo County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Amanda Elzy at 4:00 p.m. on March 18th.
