AAAAAA Region 7 recap December 3, 2013
Norcross extended the longest winning streak in AAAAAA Region 7 this week by beating Lowndes, 28-7. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Blue Devils.
Norcross took down the Vikings 28-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. A.j. Bush threw for 169 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 57 yards in the win.
Caleb Scott was the best wideout in the league this week as North Gwinnett beat Hillgrove. Scott racked up 9 receptions for 103 yards. Daniel Imatorbhebhe helped North Gwinnett's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 28 yards.
The Bulldogs' Hayden Sphire and Nate Brown have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Sphire has thrown for 2,385 yards this season, while Brown has 55 catches for 984 yards. Jordan Ellis from Peachtree Ridge leads the league in rushing with 1,677 yards.
North Gwinnett's Brown is a few successful plays short of surpassing 1,000 yards receiving this season. He needs only 16 receiving yards against McEachern to hit that benchmark. So far this year, he has garnered 55 catches for 984 yards.
Keith Maloof's team made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 111 from 175. The improvement was the result of a 28-7 victory over Lowndes last week.
