Baseball Recap: Norwood Extends Winning Streak to Three

Norwood extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 4-7 in the process. They blew past the Millis Mohawks 11-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Norwood got a great performance from Ryan Grenham as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Grenham has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tom Benson and Sam Larkee did most of the damage at the plate: Benson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Larkee went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Larkee is becoming a predictor of Norwood's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Grenham, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Norwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millis only posted an OBP of .211.

As for Millis, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-8. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Millis' side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Ferguson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
