The Stargate School Eagles strolled past the South Bison with points to spare, taking the game 80-63 thanks in part to Rusch, who went 10 of 20 on his way to 27 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristian Bennett, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.
Several Bison players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aiden Mitchell, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 15 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Dezmond Waters, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 16 points and eight rebounds.
Stargate School's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for South, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Stargate School and South could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in their respective state rankings.
