Tennessee has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Sullivan East Patriots at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Tennessee's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matches.
Last Friday, Tennessee took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 73-41 victory over Elizabethton. Given Tennessee's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while Elizabethton is ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-41, which was the final score in Sullivan East's tilt against Unicoi County on Tuesday.
Tennessee has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season. As for Sullivan East, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-11.
Tennessee beat Sullivan East 74-63 in their previous meeting last Tuesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tennessee since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
