After a string of three wins, the Boone Braves's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were outmatched by Oak Ridge on the road and fell 75-46. Boone has not had much luck with Oak Ridge recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Boone's loss came despite strong showings from Cheo James and Makauri Massey. James scored 17 points, while Massey scored 13 points. James scored a full 37% of Boone's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Oak Ridge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jalen Reece, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 5 assists. The matchup was Reece's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamier Jones , who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Boone's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-7. As for Oak Ridge, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
